The Case for Sarah Palin

Another fake rumor going around is that Sarah Palin wanted to ban books up in her home town in Alaska. It's not true. Check out the fake Palin banned books list at MichelleMalkin.com for more information on this anti-Palin smear.

There's a new story going around that "Lucille" - a waitress at an unidentified restaurant in an unidentified town in Alaska who does not want her surname to be publicized - overheard Governor Palin call Hillary Clinton a "bitch" and Barack Obama "Sambo" while speaking with several unidentified people.

"Sambo!?" Hello, 1946 called - it wants its ethnic slur back!

Seriously - this is all they got? Wait! I found a video of the current vice presidential candidate making an ethnically-loaded remark. (Oh crap, wrong candidate.)

Palin Rumors Tracker

This Palin Rumors page at the "Explorations" blog is terrific and a must-read.

Update: Let me just clarify something. When I wrote that it is "must-read" I didn't mean that people should read it because it's entertaining, though it is entertaining. The reason Palin supporters must read the Palin Rumors tracker is that we need to be prepared to counter disinformation.

Disinformation is one way the left gets what it wants. Saul Alinsky, who wrote the playbook for the left's political strategy over the last 45 years, urged leftists to ridicule those who resist the "progressive" advance. And so they invent myths about conservatives or remove actual events from their context to make those people seem ridiculous. Examples:

  • Dan Quayle never misspelled "potato" - he just read it off a card provided to him by teachers. The teachers had misspelled it.
  • George Bush was never amazed by a grocery scanner.

Lies were propagated about Bush and Quayle and the liars were successful because supporters didn't know the truth. You must go read the Palin Rumors page and be prepared to defend our vice presidential nominee.
