Media Bias Analyzed

There’s a very good article at the Daily Interlake about how Sarah Palin’s interview responses were selectively edited by Charlie Gibson and Katie Couric for the purpose of making her look foolish.

Andrew Sullivan posted this to discredit Governor Palin, but I don’t see it having that effect at all. Not for the squeamish, here’s an oldie but goodie that might discredit Andew Sullivan.

Katie Couric beclowns herself

What is it about Governor Palin that causes lefties to completely discredit themselves trying to inflict minor damage on her reputation? I’ll never be able to look at Katie Couric again without thinking about how she conspired to remove the title of “Governor” from all references to Sarah Palin.

She’s in the tank for Obama to such an extent that she’s even doing tiny, childish digs against his opponent’s VP candidate? Sad.

Update: Oh, it turns out she double-beclowned herself by allowing David Letterman to use make-up footage of McCain.

I guess I’m boycotting CBS. I’m already avoiding NBC and MSNBC, so that leaves just ABC among the old “Big 3″, and I’m not thrilled with them, either.

Publicis Groupe smear

Barack Obama / No Comments

Here’s an excellent takedown of the Ethan Winner, a principal at Barack Obama’s PR firm, Publicis Groupe. Winner was apparently behind a dishonest anti-Palin video that was uploaded to YouTube. A lot of research went into the post I linked at the Jawa Report. Very good work!

Sandra Bernhard isn’t very nice

Sarah Palin / No Comments

If the choice was between Sandra Bernhard and Sarah Palin, I know which one just about everybody would vote for.

It’s a funny thing: I actually held a door for Sandra Bernhard when she was pushing a baby stroller along Bleecker St. in New York one day about six or seven years ago. You see a mother doing something as innocent as pushing a stroller and it seems inconceivable that she could have so much rage inside her.

It strikes me as odd, however, that she gets to throw around words like “shiksa” and “goyische” - not to mention “whore” and “bitch” - and no one in the media expresses any negative judgment.

Lefties hacked Sarah Palin’s email

Unbelievable. They sink to deeper depths every day.

OK, just for the Palin family: a password ought to be at least six characters in length, not based on a real word, contain lowercase letters, uppercase letters, numbers and symbols if they’re accepted by the application. So instead of, say, “trigsmom” it should be (example) “ej4#Hn!kW”. That’s how you keep people out of your stuff.

Update: So it looks like the culprit is an Obama volunteer and son of a Tennessee Democrat state legislator. His name is David Kernell. I really hope Obama himself calls for Kernell to be prosecuted - because if he doesn’t then it will probably be open season on all politicians’ online lives.

Update 2: This is pretty hilarious.

Invent your own Palin smear

Sarah Palin / No Comments

Given the increasing absurdity of anti-Palin smears, I figured we should try to set some kind of floor on them by out-stupiding the lefties.

So I will offer up my own, and then if you like please add your own in comments.

Mine: Sarah Palin can’t be vice-president because her father was secretly D. B. Cooper. I saw him do it in a dream.

Update: I lose! God, a real slur has already trumped mine. Gawker claims that Governor Palin has “involvement with an insane witch-hunting Kenyan pastor.” Shucks. Maybe if the mainstream media goes to Kenya they’ll finally notice poor George Obama. With all the talk about any wisp of dysfunction in the Palin family, you’d think somebody would hold Barack Obama at least a bit responsible for allowing his brother to live unaided in a slum in Nairobi.

Think about it: “Nairobi slum”. I don’t know if that’s the lowest point a person can reach, but you can probably see it from there.

Sarah Palin’s Tanning Bed

Posted by Barracuda Fan on September 15, 2008
Sarah Palin / 1 Comment

Oh noes! Sarah Palin is a reverse vampire! Instead of sleeping in a coffin, she sleeps in a tanning bed! (That’s what I heard, anyway.)

Seriously, it seems that Governor Palin had a tanning bed installed in the Alaska Governors’ Mansion using her own money. And this is being held out as a scandal by some very silly people: tanning beds are bad for you because they can cause skin cancer. The irony of this is that the accusers point the finger at Palin for being some kind of religious puritan, and yet all the ridiculous moral judgments we’ve seen since she was selected come from the left - the self-proclaimed ‘tolerant’ people.

Frankly, if I lived in a place where the sun doesn’t show up much for weeks or months at a time in the winter, I might want to put a damned tanning bed in my house, too.

Update: Oh, and I totally forgot about this.
